      Expression of RpS13dsRNA.WIZ.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4amn-c651 results in a reduction in the size of the prothoracic gland in larvae compared with controls at the equivalent time point of 5 days after egg deposition (AED). In addition, these animals show an extreme developmental delay compared to wild type: at day 5 AED the larvae are smaller than control larvae, and they continue to grow and feed beyond day 10 to become giant larvae that fail to pupate.
