Imprecise excision of Mi{ET1}NetoMB04917, resulting in removal of sequence X:13391517-13395954 , containing exons 5 and 6 of Neto. This deletion introduces frameshifts and early stop codons, and the Neto ORF is truncated within the first CUB domain.

      Neto14 hemizygous embryos have normal overall appearance and completely fill their trachea with gas, but they never hatch into larval stages and they die within 2 days after egg laying. This phenotype is 100% penetrant. Mutant embryos are completely paralysed and lack any body wall peristalsis and hatching movements. Manually hatched animals fail to move or feed.
