Direct activation of sugar-sensing neurons through the expression of Crei\ChR2C128T.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-YFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Gr5a.8.5 results in an increased proportion of flies showing a proboscis extension reflex (PER) in response to either L-Dopa feeding or 6 hours of wet starvation compared to wild type.
