UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
Expression of AhcyL2NIG.8956R driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.Switch.PR (in males fed RU486 during adulthood, to avoid developmental effects) significantly extends lifespan compared to controls; at 40 days old, age-dependent decline in climbing ability (seen in controls) is significantly suppressed in RU486-fed males. Intestinal integrity (measured with the 'Smurf assay') is significantly better in 50 day old females with expression of AhcyL2NIG.8956R driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.Switch.PR, compared to controls.
