UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat of a 700bp Mgat1 cDNA fragment, in "tail-to-tail" orientation and with a 74bp spacer (second intron of the w gene) between the two repeated sequences.
Expression of Mgat1dsRNA.h-h.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in the presence of RU486 results in a reduction in mean and maximum lifespan and show reduced locomotor activity compared to controls.
