Expression of mir-7^{Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC} under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in curved and folded wings. Wing veins are thicker than normal.

Expression of mir-7^{Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC} under the control of Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1 results in wings which are thinner than normal and have a reduction in hairs at the margin, while the veins are thicker than normal. Males almost lack the wing.

Expression of mir-7^{Scer\UAS.T:Ppyr\LUC} under the control of Scer\GAL4^ptc-559.1 results in veins L3 and L4 being closer together than normal. Notching is seen between these veins. The adults get stuck in the food and die quickly.
