The total duration of sleep per 24 hour period is not significantly different from wild type. However, during the night the mean sleep bout length is decreased, the mean sleep bout number is increased and the amount of wake after sleep onset is increased in the mutant flies, indicating fragmented night-time sleep. These defects can be rescued by feeding the flies 1mM Prampipexole for 3 days.

Mutant flies are hyperlocomotive when enclosed within a restrictive space. The mutant flies walk at the same speed as controls in Buridan's assay but spend more time moving with fewer pauses, resulting in longer uninterrupted bouts of walking compared to wild type.
