The expression of mir-308Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO, in combination with RU486 treatment to restrict expression to adulthood, does not lead to a significant difference in the recovery time from ethanol sedation, as compared to controls.

Only 19 +/- 9% of animals expressing mir-308Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 survive past 96 hours after egg deposition, compared to 77 +/- 6% of controls.
