UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a DsRed(Unk) fluorescent protein. A genomic fragment containing the mir-316 pre-miRNA hairpin has been inserted into the DsRed(Unk) 3'UTR.

      Expression of mir-316Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in wings which are curved longitudinally.

      Females expressing mir-316Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP under the control of Scer\GAL4sd-SG29.1 have slightly curved wings with an irregular margin, and sometimes defects in vein patterning. Males have very small wings with no margin.
