Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion, resulting in a 1084bp deletion which removes sequence encoding the first 118 amino acid residues of dream and 549bp upstream of the original insertion site.
Estimated boundaries of a 1084 bb deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{XP}Stricad06491 that removes the first 118 amino acids of Strica.
Approximately 30% of dying mid-stage egg chambers show defects in germline programmed cell death in homozygous, dream2/dream3 and dream2/Df(2R)nap9 females, having large intact nurse cell nuclei, but lacking follicle cells. In addition, a small proportion of the egg chambers have condensed nurse cell nuclei but lack follicle cells. 12% of stage 14 homozygous egg chambers have persistant nurse cell nuclei.
