Expressing snz^HMS01956 under the control of Scer\GAL4^DcG leads to third instar larval fat cells exhibiting drastic variability in peripheral lipid droplets, and the peripheral lipid droplet layer, usually distinct just below the cell surface, is much less distinguishable; plasma membrane invaginations are still present, as normally observed in controls.
