      Scer\GAL80 is expressed from the P{gypsy-TRAP} construct, resulting in repression of Scer\GAL4 drivers. Insertion of a gypsy element into the P{gypsy-TRAP} construct will block Scer\GAL80 expression, allowing Scer\GAL4 driver expression. The construct can thus be used as a reporter for gypsy element transposition.
