Description

Excision of the FRT-w cassette from progenitor AxnΔI.FRT.αTub84B.Tag:FLAG allows the αTub84B promoter to drive expression of an Axn deletion mutant lacking the I domain (C182-C384) which is fused with N-terminal 6xTag:FLAG.

      Expression of maternally deposited AxnΔI.αTub84B.T:Zzzz\FLAG reduces the hatch rate of embryos to 63% of controls. Examination of the larval cuticles reveal no significant effect.

      The hatch rate of embryos expressing zygotic AxnΔI.αTub84B.T:Zzzz\FLAG is not significantly affected. The majority of embryos complete development and reach adulthood. The adult flies show no external defects.

      AxnS044230 mutant (maternal-/zygotic-) embryos expressing maternally provided AxnΔI.αTub84B.T:Zzzz\FLAG display a wild-type pattern of denticle belts.

      The majority of AxnS044230 (maternal-/zygotic-) mutant embryos expressing maternally provided AxnΔI.αTub84B.T:Zzzz\FLAG successfully hatch. However, all of the rescued animals die at later stages.
