An Hsp70 promoter drives expression of a deleted form of aPKC which lacks the N-terminal regulatory domain (the mutant protein starts at amino acid 223, within the hinge region, of the wild-type protein).

      Induction of aPKCPKM.hs (using heat shock 30 minutes after training) enhances 4 day memory after massed training in an olfactory avoidance conditioning assay.
