Insulin-like peptide-producing cells in Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR Mmus\Ucp1Scer\UAS.cFa flies are morphologically indistinguishable from those of controls.

Under normal growth conditions, insulin-like peptide-producing cells in Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR Mmus\Ucp1Scer\UAS.cFa adult brains show a 21-51% decrease in steady-state Ca[2+] levels.

Under fasting conditions, the hemolymph of Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR Mmus\Ucp1Scer\UAS.cFa flies has up to a 29% increase in circulating sugars (glucose + trehalose) compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR-mediated expression of Mmus\Ucp1Scer\UAS.cFa extends adult lifespan and renders flies more resistant to oxidative and starvation stress compared to controls. Average egg laying activities and spontaneous physical activity are comparable to controls.

Scer\GAL4Ilp2.PR Mmus\Ucp1Scer\UAS.cFa flies have an average of 26% increase in glycogen content but no noticeable increase in lipid content.
