Description

Scer\FRT-mediated recombination between the two progenitor insertions has resulted in the deletion of the genomic sequence between them, producing a 38kb deletion which removes the 5' part of Optix (including sequence encoding the Six domain and homeodomain) and several neighbouring genes.
