Expression of Syx1AD253R.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 decreases the frequency of miniature end plate potentials and evoked junction potentials. This is not accompanied by a reduction in the quantum amplitude of mEPPs. The presence of Syx1AD253R.Scer\UAS does not appear to reduce the probability of formation of the SNARE supercomplex, but its capability to mediate vesicle fusion.
Neuromuscular junctions expressing Syx1AD253R.Scer\UAS display a Ca[2+] concentration dependency equal to that of the wild-type neuromuscular junctions.
