UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expression of mahHMJ21732 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to hyperaggressive behavior in adult flies - in the same genotype fights the flies display decrease in the latency to lunge and increase in the total number of lunges compared to controls. In a competitive advantage assay against their genetic background control flies, flies expressing mahHMJ21732 win significantly more fights than control knock-down flies.
