Expression of one copy of Zzzz\CTG84.Scer\UAS.cvEa.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa results in a mild rough eye phenotype, with significant disorganisation of the internal structure of the eye. No pigment loss is seen but flies show deviation from the normal seven photoreceptors per ommatidial unit, and severe structural disorganisation. Tiny aggregates are seen throughout the eye and the localisation of the nuclei is also disrupted. Expression of two copies of the transgene results in a near complete loss of eye tissue, with the remaining tissue having a glazed appearance.
Flies expressing Zzzz\CTG84.Scer\UAS.cvEa.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 are viable. Diffuse aggregates are seen exclusively in the cytoplasm in third instar larvae. Adult flies appear morphologically normal.
Flies expressing Zzzz\CTG84.Scer\UAS.cvEa.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 show climbing defects.
Brains from adult flies expressing Zzzz\CTG84.Scer\UAS.cvEa.T:Hsap\MYC,T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu exhibit a large number of aggregates that are localised to the neuronal cell body. They are found in the central brain, the optic lobes nd the antennae. These aggregates are non-uniform; there is variation in size and some aggregates are present outside of the nucleus.
