45 additional bases (ctgaaaagcgttctacaagctgaagcacttttttatgatgtttgc) are present between the two mapped bases in many Drosophila strains but are absent in the sequenced strain. This region is in the spacer between the stripe 3+7 and stripe 2 enhancers of eve.
