Homozygotes are viable and fertile and adults appear morphologically normal.

Number of boutons per muscle area at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) is not significantly different from wild type in homozygous third instar larvae and muscle size appears normal.

In 2 week old homozygous adults, presynaptic arbor area and normalised bouton number at the NMJ is not significantly different from wild type, but the absolute value of bouton number per terminal is increased.

Homozygotes show an age-dependent decline in climbing ability compared to age-matched controls.
