UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of p sequences tagged at the C-terminal end with EGFP. The predicted C-terminal 203 amino acid residues of p have been removed and replaced with a 4 amino acid PVAT linker sequence followed by the EGFP tag. The p sequences are derived from the RE38137 cDNA clone, which contains some nucleotide differences from the sequenced D. melanogaster genome, including three which result in amino acid changes: nucleotide position 700 (Thr to Ala), nucleotide position 1196 (Leu to Gln) and nucleotide position 1856 (Lys to Arg).
