UASt regulates expression of the ('activated') intracellular domain of N containing the RAM domain (RICN), representing bases 6057-9019 (numbering according to FlyBase), with translation starting at an internal methionine at position 1762 and ending at 2703 with the normal N stop codon.

      Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-mediated expression of NRICN.Scer\UAS causes a transformation of inner into outer cell fate and shaft into socket cell fate during bristle development, giving rise to double and quadruple sockets instead of normal bristles. Nearly all bristles are affected. Flies die as pharates.
