UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a constitutively active form of aop (the same coding sequence as in P{UAS-aop.ACT}) that is tagged at the N-terminal end with Tag:FLAG.
Expression of aopScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG in the adult gut and fat body under the control of Scer\GAL4Switch1.106 (in the presence of RU486) results in significant lifespan extension. No changes are seen in starvation, hydrogen peroxide or DDT resistance, feeding or fecundity. However, induction of aopScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG in the adult gut and fat body results in increased circulating sugars.
