UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a Mmus\Ankrd6 cDNA.
Expression of Mmus\Ankrd6Scer\UAS.cJa in the posterior compartment of the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in strong bristle polarity phenotypes, and in some cases gross defects in the overall morphology of the wing. Expressing Mmus\Ankrd6Scer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 results in mild bristle polarity defects, and no gross wing morphology phenotypes.
Flies expressing Mmus\Ankrd6Scer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 exhibit eye defects, including misoriented facets and some facets lacking the normal complement of photoreceptor cells.
Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4/Mmus\Ankrd6UAS.cJa is a suppressor of abnormal planar polarity phenotype of dgo380
Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4/Mmus\Ankrd6UAS.cJa is a suppressor of wing hair phenotype of dgo380
Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4/Mmus\Ankrd6UAS.cJa is a suppressor of eye phenotype of dgo380
Expression of Mmus\Ankrd6Scer\UAS.cJa in the posterior compartment of the wing under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 completely rescues the whorl phenotype seen in the wing bristles of dgo380 mutant flies. The whorl phenotype is still observed in the anterior compartment. Expression of Mmus\Ankrd6Scer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4hh-Gal4 also rescues the dgo380 eye polarity phenotypes.
