Imprecise excision of P{EP}G8712 resulting in a 404 bp deletion from the 5' UTR to the middle of the coding exon of E(spl)mβ-HLH.
A 404 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{EP}G8712, removes the ATG and more than half of the coding sequence of E(spl)mbeta-HLH. 13 bases of P element sequence remain at the site of the excision. The extent of the deletion was mapped from reported sequence data.
E(spl)mβ-HLH10-1 is homozygous viable. No obvious defects in tissue homeostasis are observed in E(spl)mβ-HLH10-1 mutants.
