Activation of the B[[SEG]] neurons using the combination of the Hsim\VP16⁹⁹ and Scer\GAL4^{DBD.Burs.T:Zzzz\Zip-} split-gal4 hemidrivers results in newly emerged flies placed in a confined environment showing abdominal flexion behaviours characteristic of wing expansion. The flies also show normal tanning.
