Description

Duplication of the Desat2 gene. The 5' copy encodes the non-functional M-type which is found in Cosmopolitan populations, while the 3' copy encodes the functional Z-type allele found in Zimbabwe populations. A w[+] marker and a RS(I-CreI) site are present between the two copies.
