      Germline (Scer\GAL4vas.PU) expression of pumScer\UAS.tub3'UTR completely blocks germline cyst differentiation, resulting in a germ cell tumor phenotype (and almost no egg chambers contain polyploid nurse cells). Many posteriorly positioned mutant germ cells show signs of dedifferentiation, with some cysts appearing to break down to single mitotically active cells.
