      Adults expressing Zzzz\afgpScer\UAS.P\T.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL show increased cold tolerance compared to controls at 4[o]C. The increased level of apoptosis that is seen in the flight muscles of control flies incubated at 4[o]C for 7 days is significantly reduced in animals expressing Zzzz\afgpScer\UAS.P\T.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL.

      Embryos derived from females expressing Zzzz\afgpScer\UAS.P\T.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 are more resistant to cold shock (-5[o]C for 60, 90, 120 or 150 minutes) than control embryos.
