A 4.5kb genomic region containing the coding regions of Zzzz\UL123 and Zzzz\UL122 (without the Major Immediate Early promoter).
Following heat shock for 8 minutes at 120-190 minutes old (stages 5-7), between 34% and 43% of embryos expressing Zzzz\UL123hsp70.cSa fail to hatch, compared to 18% in wild type. Unhatched wild type embryos do not show any obvious abnormalities, whereas embryos expressing Zzzz\UL123hsp70.cSa display extremely abnormal embryonic morphology and appear disorganised and fragmented. In some embryos delaminated cells appear to be floating within the vitelline envelope. The adherens junctions (AJs) appear irregularly spaced and disorganised and are sometimes detected at more basal domains than in wild type.
