UAS regulatory sequences (from pWALIUM10-moe) drive expression of a reporter for in vivo visualisation of chitin deposition. The reporter consists of the dyl signal sequence, the tdTomato fluorescent protein, the chitin-binding domain of the Bacillus circulans chiA gene and the C-terminal portion of dyl (this portion includes a furin cleavage site which allows the reporter protein to be released from the plasma membrane).
