mei-W68Z4472/mei-W68Z4472 female meioses exhibit severe crossover frequency reduction along the X chromosome and chromosome 2, as compared to wild type. However, when mei-W68Z4472/mei-W68Z4472 females are irradiated to induce double stranded breaks, crossing over is efficiently induced.

mei-W68L1/mei-W68Z4472 female meioses exhibit crossover frequency reduction in some, but not all, regions of chromosome 3, as compared to wild type.
