Comment:

Approximate coordinates of 746 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{A92}pea1. Extends from the insertion site in the 5' UTR of pea into the pea gene.

peac89/peac89, but not peac89/+, mutants exhibit lethality.

peac89/peac89 whole germline clones in peac89/+ females arrest during stages 2-3 of oogenesis, however, egg chambers mosaic for peac89/peac89 germline clones develop further in oogenesis, exhibiting nurse cell chromatin dispersal defects at a high penetrance, mis-localization of spliceosomes, various nurse cell chromatin defects at later stages, including granular and/or prominent interchromatin spaces, irregularities in the shape and morphology of heterozygous sibling nurse cells, and occasional growth defects from stage 6-10 of oogenesis, as compared to wild type.

Comments

Expression of peaScer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 fails to rescue the egg chamber and nurse cell defects seen in peac89/peac89 germline clones.
