Axn1511/AxnS044230 transheterozygotes are lethal.

Axn1511 follicle cell clones can be found in the normal polar/stalk region, or as small clones within the main body forming ectopic polar and stalk cells, or as large clones that form a continuous stalk with a single polar cell cluster, causing the egg chamber to appear to bud from the side; clones generated at later stages, however, do not show these defects. Mosaic border cell/polar cell clusters containing Axn1511 clones present increased polar cell and total cell numbers, as compared to controls.
