The RMCE cassette of the Mi{MIC}Brf^MI02107 insertion has been replaced with a Trojan-GAL4 cassette. The insertion is in an intron in the 5' UTR of all annotated transcripts of lute, and thus Scer\GAL4 expression due to gene trapping of these transcripts is not predicted. However, Scer\GAL4 expression is seen in this insertion line. This expression may be because it is inserted in a coding intron of an unannotated transcript of lute or another gene. The insertion is in a coding intron of the Brf gene on the opposite strand, but is in the wrong orientation to trap it.
