      As a result of being exposed to ionizing radiation at a dosage of 30 or 40 Gy during third instar larval stage, mre11R569A homozygotes exhibit increased mortality and irradiation sensitivity compared to controls.

      After 10 Gy ionizing radiation, mitosis is almost completely blocked in mre11R569A third instar larval wing and eye discs similar to controls.
