As a result of being exposed to ionizing radiation at a dosage of 10, 20, 30 or 40 Gy during third instar larval stage, mre114RA homozygotes exhibit increased mortality and irradiation sensitivity compared to controls.
After 10 Gy ionizing radiation, mitosis is almost completely blocked in mre114RA third instar larval wing and eye discs similar to controls.
