      HP1b16 third instar larvae and female but not male adults exhibit significantly decreased activity levels when compared to controls.

      HP1b16 adults exhibit reduced food intake, significantly increased resistance to starvation, significantly decreased resistance to oxidative stress (paraquat feeding, only in females) and normal resistance to heat stress compared to controls.

      Body fat levels of HP1b16 adults exhibit an increase in early life and a sharp drop during mid-life different than controls.

      HP1b16 acts as an enhancer of variegation for Stubble and white (modifier in females) reporters when compared to controls.
