Description

Genomic fragment carrying the aop gene. The coding sequence has been mutated to carry a V105R amino acid replacement in the SAM domain (this mutation blocks polymer formation in vitro) and a GFP tag has been introduced at the C-terminal end of the coding sequence.

      Adult aop443/aopE833 transheterozygotes bearing aopV105R.GFP show a rough eye phenotype; most ommatidia show extra photoreceptor cells, particularly inner photoreceptor R7 cells, but some other miss photoreceptor cells, as compared to controls.
