Expressing hdcUAS.cLa under the control of either Scer\GAL4GMR.PU or Scer\GAL4nub.PU induces smaller eyes or wings, respectively, than in controls; these wings exhibit significantly fewer but denser trichomes (as quantified between L3 and L4) than controls.

Expressing hdcUAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU does not induce ectopic cell apoptosis (in TUNEL assay) in the wing disc.

Expressing hdcUAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4en.PU leads to more cells undergoing S-phase and mitosis in the posterior compartment of the wing disc (where Scer\GAL4en.PU is driving expression), despite a significant decrease in wing compartment size, as compared to controls.

Clonal expression of hdcUAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU in the eye disc induces a cell cycle progression delay, as mutant second mitotic wave cells are less anterior than neighboring wild-type controls.
