UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of Hsap\YARS1 in which the nuclear localization signal motif has been disrupted by mutating residues 242-247 from KKKLKK to NNKLNK.
The expression of Hsap\YARS1ΔNLS.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4nSyb.PU does not affect adult climbing ability, or third instar larval NMJ morphology (size and bouton number).
The expression under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR91H05 also does not affect giant fiber morphology, or the giant fiber ability to follow repeated stimuli.
