Description

1076bp deletion (coordinates 3L:9371643..9372718 , release 6 genome) that removes the Hsp67Bc promoter and much of the gene (only 132bp of the 3' end of the transcription unit remain). Generated by imprecise excision of P{XP}Hsp67Bcd06009. In addition to the deletion, a 12bp insertion (TTTTGACTTTTT) is found at the site of the excision, presumably representing part of the original Hsp67Bc insertion.

      Hsp67Bc0 homozygotes exhibit increased survival upon cold exposure for 4 hours during white prepupa stage while Hsp67Bc0 homozygous females exhibit decreased survival upon cold exposure for 2, 4 or 12 hours on day 4 of adulthood.

      Hsp67Bc0 homozygous females and males exhibit slower recovery from the chill coma (cold exposure for 2 (not significantly different for males), 4 or 12 hours on day 4 of adulthood).
