Re-integration of sequence into the attP site present in TI{TI}RpS26attP-KO. The inserted sequence comprises: 1. an FRT cassette that contains the RpS26 sequence (exon 2) that was deleted in TI{TI}RpS26attP-KO (this reconstitutes a wild-type RpS26 locus) and a tub-mCherry marker, and 2. a loxP cassette that contains the Disc\RFPmCherry.3xP3 marker. This results in a conditional allele in which in RpS26 function can be disrupted by using FLP recombinase to excise the FRT cassette.
Conditional heterozygosity for RpS26cKO in the imaginal disc posterior region (hh-Gal4>FLP) leads to increased apoptosis only in the heterozygous region.
