      The expression of Hsap\PRNPM129.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU induces a small, disorganized, glassy eye, with highly disorganized and vacuolated retinas and few recognizable rhabdomeres. TEM analysis shows few rhabdomeres, extensive vacuolation and fusion of photoreceptors; mitochondria appeared vacuolated with disrupted internal membranes.
