An extended 798bp eve stripe 2 enhancer fragment (contains the minimal 484bp enhancer plus 50bp upstream and 264bp downstream sequence), with a 43bp deletion of the gt-2 protein-binding site, is fused upstream of an eve core promoter followed by lacZ.
