Mutated His3 gene in the context of a histone gene repeat tandem array; the His3 coding sequence carries a K27R amino acid replacement (to prevent methylation) and the His3 3'UTR has been replaced by the wild-type 3'UTR sequence of the orthologous His3 gene from D. simulans.
