Term larval terminal neuroblast ID (Ontology) FBbt:00048511 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Neuroblast found in a terminal abdominal neuromere of the larval ventral nerve cord that exits quiescence in early larval stages (Ghosh et al., 2019). There are 12 of these cells in each terminal region (consisting of A8-A10), four of which express doublesex (dsx) and die (before proliferating) in female second instar larvae (Birkholz et al., 2013; Ghosh et al., 2019). At least two of the dsx neuroblasts are NB5-4 (Birkholz et al., 2013).[ FlyBase:FBrf0221210 FlyBase:FBrf0243282 ]
