Definition

Subperineurial glia lies beneath the outer surface of the ventral nerve cord. Its nuclei and cell bodies are round and flat. Cytoplasmic extensions sometimes extend a short distance into the underlying cortex and fill the space between the outermost neuronal cell bodies.[ FlyBase:FBrf0082171 ]
