General Information
Term adult olfactory receptor neuron Ir84a ID (Ontology) FBbt:00110007 (Fly Anatomy)
Definition Adult olfactory receptor neuron that expresses the Ionotropic receptor (Ir) 84a and the co-receptor Ir8a (Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from the antennal coeloconic sensillum ac4 (Benton et al., 2009). It responds to phenylacetic acid and phenylacetaldehyde (Benton et al., 2025). Its axon innervates antennal lobe glomerulus VL2a bilaterally, following the antennal lobe commissure (Grosjean et al., 2011; Silbering et al., 2011). It develops from an Nab precursor (Benton et al., 2025).
